Repoll in Tripura
AGARTALA, May 2 (UNI) — Repoll has been ordered in 14 booths under six constituencies where first phase of election was held to the 30-member Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council on Sunday. The polling was marred by violence, booth capturing and firing by militants.

Accused acquitted
CHENNAI, May 2 (UNI) — The Madras High Court has set aside the order of a lower court, convicting and sentencing five accused to life imprisonment in the Chennai airport bomb blast case of 1984, in which 30 persons were killed.

Barmer hottest
JAIPUR, May 2 (UNI) — With mercury further shooting up at several places in Rajasthan, the ongoing heatwave tightened its grip in the state, Met Office said today. Barmer with mercury touching 46°C remained hottest.
