IA official held
CHENNAI,
April 25 (PTI) An airline official at the local
airport was today caught red-handed smuggling out
contraband while on duty. A senior Security Assistant of
the Indian Airlines was nabbed by Customs officials while
he was attempting to smuggle out gold biscuits worth Rs
25 lakh from the operational area of the Chennai airport.
A rexene pouch containing 48 gold biscuits, weighing 5.6
kg, were recovered from him.
Allies defer

NEW DELHI,
April 25 (PTI) BJPs allies deferred to
tomorrow their meeting to chalk out a strategy on their
demand to roll back the increase in prices of foodgrains
supplied through the Public Distribution System. NDA
sources said the meeting, which was to be held today, has
been postponed in view of the all-party meeting convened
by the Prime Minister to discuss the drought situation
and the Business Advisory Committee meeting.

MUMBAI,
April 25 (UNI) The Crime Branch of the Mumbai
Police has nabbed as many as five gangsters of the Chotta
Shakeel gang in connection with the sensational murder of
a former Shiv Sena Pramukh and his associate, according
to Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) D. Shivanandan.
