Quake hits
Haryana
NEW DELHI, March 26 (PTI) An earthquake of slight
intensity hit Haryana region at 8.03 a.m. today, a met
department press note said here. The quake, measuring 2.4
on the Richter Scale, lay centred at 28.28 degrees north
(latitude) and 76.35 degrees east (longitude), it said.
Haj pilgrims
JEDDAH, March 26 (UNI) Thousands of Indian
pilgrims today protested against the Air India officials
for keeping them unattended at the Jeddah Haj terminal
for more than 48 hours. India-bound flights, which were
scheduled to depart on March 23, had still not taken off
due to non-availability of bays, crew as well as
aircraft.

killers shot
MUMBAI, March 26 (PTI) Two sharp shooters owing
allegiance to underworld don Chhota Rajan, who were
allegedly involved in gunning down of trade unionist
Datta Samant, have been killed in an encounter with the
police in suburban Mahim. The police today said they laid
a trap in the area last night following a tip off that
Sunil Madgaonkar alias Matya, and Sushil Hadkar would
visit Dharavi in north-west Mumbai in a Maruti car.

ISLAMABAD, March 26 (PTI) Pakistan has termed
Indias suggestion for restoration of democracy as
an unwarranted interference in
Islamabads internal affairs. The remarks made
by the foreign spokesman of India to the effect that
India calls for an immediate return to democracy in
Pakistan in reaction to the Chief Executives
announcement of the devolution plan on March 23 is
unwarranted interference in the internal affairs of
Pakistan, a Pakistani Government spokesman said
late yesterday.
