Clinton may visit Pak
ISLAMABAD, Feb 13 (UNI) — US President Bill Clinton may pay a day’s visit to Pakistan on March 25, Daily Jung reported today quoting reliable sources. According to the report, a slight change is being made in the itinerary of President Clinton’s visit to South Asia. The President will reach Lahore on March 25 and after an overnight stay will fly to Dhaka the following day. The Bangladesh Government has been informed that Mr Clinton will reach Dhaka on March 26.

Strike deferred
NEW DELHI, Feb 13 (PTI) — Telecom unions today agreed to defer their proposed one-day nationwide strike on February 15, official sources said. Three federations — National Federation of Telecom Employees, Federation of National Telecom Organisations and Bharatiya Telecom Employees Federation — agreed to defer the strike following talks with Department of Telecom Services (DoTS) Secretary P.S. Saran, the sources said.

12 crushed to death
VARANASI, Feb 13 (UNI) — At least 12 persons were killed on the spot and many others were injured when a truck ran over the pavement of a vegetable market on G.T. Road in the Babusarai area in Sant Ravidas Nagar district this afternoon. According to the police, the driver lost control over the truck and the vehicle rammed into some kiosks after running over the pavement of the vegetable market. Angry local people set the truck on fire.

  Ballia quiet
LUCKNOW, Feb 13 (PTI) — No untoward incident was reported from any part of Ballia town where an indefinite curfew, clamped in the wake of violence sparked by the killing of a student leader allegedly by a police Sub-Inspector, remained in force today.
