Two booked: Two businessmen Jawahar Lal
and Prem Nath of Mansa have been booked on a
charge of fraud with a farmer. In a press note
issued here, Mr Sat Pal Singh Sidhu, SP
(Vigilance), said they had committed a fraud of
Rs 1.20 lakh with the farmer.GURDASPUR
Uniforms distributed: The Ramsharnam
Trust, Gohana, distributed uniforms among 250
students of primary schools and 20 sewing
machines to girls at a function organised at Kala
Kendra here on Saturday. The trust also awarded
30 scholarships of Rs 300 per month to students
of higher and senior secondary level.

Training programme: A training programme
on "export procedure and documentation"
organised by the Punjab State Industries Export
Corporation and the SISI concluded here on
Saturday. The valedictory function was presided
over by Mr J.S. Kullar, Director, SISI.
Contest:
A quiz contest on environment was organised at
Government College for Boys here on Saturday. It
was organised by State Bank of India and the
Paryavaran Vahini. As many as 65 teams
participated. Mr Tejveer Singh, Additional Deputy
Commissioner (Development), was the chief guest.
The first prize was won by students of PAU,
second by Government College for Women and third
by Guru Nanak Public School.

Shortage: The district courts here are
facing a shortage of court fee stamp papers of
small denominations. Residents have urged the
district administration to make proper
arrangements for the supply of the stamp papers.

Nagar kirtan: A colourful nagar kirtan
procession was taken out here on Saturday to
commemorate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak
Dev. Langars were also organised at different
places on the occasion.
SAMRALA
Donation: Mr Amrik Singh Dhillon , MLA,
Samrala, donated Rs 15,000 to the Bar Association
for the library on Saturday, according to Mr H S
Diwa, president of the association.
