Live telecast of satellite launch
BANGALORE, May 24 (PTI) — The launch of the three satellites — Indian remote sensing satellite or the IRS-P4 (Oceansat), the Korean Kitsat and German DLR-Tubsat by ISRO’s polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV-C2) — on May 26 from Sriharikota range will be telecast live by Doordarshan on its national network from 11.15 am till about 12.15 pm, an ISRO release said.

12 killed in blast
ISLAMABAD, May 24 (PTI) — At least 12 persons were killed and 32 injured when a powerful bomb ripped through a crowded area near a mosque in the border town of Deska of Punjab province this morning. The bomb kept in a plastic bag went off killing five persons on the spot, official APP news agency said adding seven others succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Most of the victims were daily labourers who had assembled at the place when the explosion occurred.

President in Kerala
KOCHI, May 24 (PTI) — President K.R. Narayanan accompanied by wife Usha Narayanan arrived here by an Indian Airforce flight for a two-day visit to Kerala. He was received at the Naval Airport by Governor Sukhdev Singh Kang, Chief Minister E.K. Nayanar, Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court A.R. Lakshmanan, and other high officials.

5 burnt in mishap
MUZAFFARNAGAR, May 24 (PTI) — Five persons were burnt to death when a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus collided with a truck and caught fire on the Delhi-Rishikesh national highway near here today, police said. The bus was on its way to Rishikesh from the Capital when the mishap occurred at Bensi village, about 15 km from here. The injured, several of them in serious condition, have been admitted to hospitals in Khatauli, Meerut and here.

KATHMANDU, May 24 (AFP) — The Nepali Congress has cleared the finishing post by winning more than the required 103 seats to form a government on its own, election officials said today. With 97.5 per cent of the results announced, the Nepali Congress (NC) has won 110 seats in the 205-seat Lower House of Parliament, followed by the Nepal Communist Party-United Marxist and Leninist with 67.
