I am 39 years old. Of late all my dreams seem to be having a yellowish background. Why?

Dulha Singh, Ropar

Are you facing a lot of problems? Do you remain depressed? That is what the pre-dominance of yellow colour signifies. Try to remain cheerful and share your problems with others.

I am 27 years old and underemployed. I often dream of fighting with three-four persons. Initially they overpower me but in the end I attack them so violently that at times I myself get frightened.

Sarv Bains, Gurdaspur

One must air one’s emotions, or else it leads to suppression and thereafter results into the development of unhealthy emotions. Your dreams depict latent aggression. The men overpowering you is the representation of your fate wherein you see yourself as a loser. The attack by you portrays the frustration within you. Keep looking for new vistas. Do not lose hope.

I am 16 years old. I often dream of ghosts harming my younger brother. I fight with the ghost and finally succeed in saving my brother.

Apurva Prabhakar, Jalandhar

What makes you so insecure about your younger brother? Have you been the overprotective sister until now? It seems your brother has begun to try out his wings and this is making you feel insecure. Sooner or later this would have happened. Give in gracefully. Be a friend to him rather than a surrogate mother.

I am a 59-year-old man. In my dream, I saw a number of thieves rushing into my neighbour’s house. I raced after them. I caught one of them and began to beat him up with a stick.

K.S. Beri, Muktsar

Capturing a thief denotes overpowering of enemies. An important point here is that the thief entered your neighbour’s house. Your catching him portrays a helpful nature as well as a meddling one. Do not interfere in other’s affairs till you’re asked to. By trying to be a friendly neighbour, one often lands up getting a reputation of being a nosey one.

I am a 39-year-old businessman. I saw a comet in my dream recently. Is it a lucky dream?

Kalyan Singh, Palampur

The day’s activities leave an impression on the mind, and may also lead to dreams. The present over-involvement with Temple-tuttle comet could have left an impression on your mind. But as per your query, comet is not potrayed lucky. It denotes disturbances in life. Tolmon said such a dream "portends great calamity among the nations. All persons, after such a dream may look for misfortune. It signifies descent from every situation to a lower one."
