Shah Rukh all set to roar
By Madhur Mittal

SHAH RUKH KHAN is not going to sit quietly for long. The hyperactive Khan is not one to rest on the laurels of Baadshah — which all inside sources point, is going to be a winner at the box office!

Baadshah KhanHe’s going full steam ahead to complete his home production, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, with a lot of hi-tech gizmos thrown in for good measure. The Khan is leaving no loopholes for his production house’s — Dreamz Unlimited — debut on the big screen! And his co-star and partner Juhi Chawla is backing (!) him all the way for a whopping 2000 release.

Meanwhile, he’s also given bulk dates to Kamal Hasan’s Hey Ram, so that the multi-faceted South Indian star has no problems whatsoever in his premier directorial venture. Do we hear any ‘Rahs! For Rukh?

Sunny Sush

Yes, indeed! Sushmita Sen is on cloud nine these days — it’s now that success has ‘knocked’ Dastak, the film was a couple of years back on her door. She’s got not one, but two hits tucked away under her shapely arm. While Sirf Tum is a hit, Biwi No. 1 is a super-duper hit!

And as the beautiful Ms Sen rides the waves of success , she is all at sea about the rumours linking her with her co-star Sanjay Kapoor. "Where does the media get such outlandish gibberish from?" she queries, throwing up her manicured hands in despair. Well honey, from right outside our door where Sanjay’s car is parked from eleven in the morning to eleven in the night!

I guess that’s the reason Maheep Kapoor nee Sandhu has a perpetual scowl on her face, eh?

Bald and beautiful!

Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink seems to be the dilemma of Deepa Mehta’s latest venture, Water (but natch!) With Bollywood’s two top-notch heroines, Tabu and Mahima, each claiming that she is the lucky one to be selected for the "challenging role".

Well, I see the challenge in who eventually gets the film, and I guess we will not have that ‘long’ to wait. Whoever goes bald first is the chosen one. The simple reason being that the heroine of Water is supposed to be bald.

A role worth losing your hair over? Ask Tabu or Mahima.

Sunil’s business

Show business might not have been as kind to him as he may have liked, but his other businesses are going great guns — I am talking about Sunil Shetty our very own, desi, Arnold (Schwarzenegger).

Not only are his boutiques — Mischief, More Mischief — very popular but even his game parlours scattered all over the metropolis, are raking in the moolah and the little ones, by the thousands. The kids have all become die-hard addicts of the futuristic playware Sunil’s parlours offer, and the mommies and daddies are not far behind.

The latest is an exclusive (!) Thai restaurant, ‘Tie Me up’, in downtown Mumbai, and the Shetty’s — Sunil and Mana — are very excited about their latest venture into the foodie line.

Of course, the softie that he is, Sunil makes sure he takes time out for all kinds of charities — Kargil, orphanages, hospitals et al.

And films? "There are a couple of them — very satisfying ones too," he smiles. But of course! But of course!

Is she or isn’t she?

The buzz around the industry is that Juhi has been paid a visit by the stork. Could that be the reason for the excess baggage she seems to be carrying around, what in the recent past used to be her waistline? Hubby Jai Mehta would know; now wouldn’t he?Back
