Ranbir Sena kills 11
PATNA, April 22 (PTI) — At least 11 persons were gunned down by the Ranbir Sena at Khagri-Bigha and Jawahir-Bigha villages under Bela police station in Gaya district of Bihar late last night. Official sources said over 100 heavily armed Ranbir Sena activists divided into two groups swooped on the two adjoining villages and fired indiscriminately at the villagers. While eight persons were killed on the spot, three others succumbed to gunshot injuries on the way to hospital.

Over 100 massacred
JOHANNESBURG, April 22 (ANI) — Rebels in Sierra Leone, fleeing from the advancing troops of the ECOMOG West African force and loyalist traditional hunters militia, massacred more than 100 civilians last week in the town of Songo. A woman who survived the massacre said the rebels began killing the people they had held captive from nearby towns and continued the killings for two days before finally fleeing. An ECOMOG spokesman said they had collected at least 125 bodies.

10 killed in road mishap
SRINAGAR, April 22 (TNS) — At least 10 persons were killed in a road accident, when the Tata Sumo in which they were travelling skidded off the road at Ramban on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway this morning. The driver of the Tata Sumo (2166 JK-04) was among those killed. Six of the killed have been identified as Musaddiq Qayoom Dar, of JK Cements, Ghulam Rasool Mir of RN Telecom STD, Anantnag, Devinder Roy from Bihar, Shahbir Ahmad Dagga of Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar, Fida Hussain Khan of Achchabal, Anantnag and Arif Mohammad.

Two buried alive
FARIDABAD, April 22 (TNS)— Two labourers, Dev Kumar and Dinesh were killed and two others were injured yesterday when they were buried under mud at the gas power project of the NTPC at Mujedi village, near here. The accident occurred when Dev Kumar, Dinesh, Prahlad and Suryabali were taking food in the pit which had been dug earlier. Suddenly a heap of mound fell on them. The NTPC headquarters in Delhi has ordered an inquiry into the accident.

2 feared drowned
KURUKSHETRA, April 22 (FOC) — Two students of Regional Engineering College are feared to have drowned in the Bhakra canal near Jyotisar, 5 km from here, yesterday. According to sources, several college students went to the Bhakra canal for an outing. Suddenly, one student's foot slipped and he fell into the canal. Four students jumped into the water to save their classmate, but two of them were reportedly washed away. Their bodies have not been located so far.
