Government's fall internal affairs: Pak
ISLAMABAD, April 17 (AP) — Following the collapse of the BJP-led government, Pakistan today said it remained committed to negotiations regardless of who is in power. Today’s confidence vote that brought down Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee’s government "was an internal affair of India’’ said a Pakistani Foreign Ministry statement. However, the statement added that "Pakistan desires political stability in the region.’’

MUMBAI, April 17 (PTI) — The Rashtriya Janata Party (RJP) today expelled its sole member in the Lok Sabha Mr Anand Mohan for voting in favour of the Vajpayee government during the motion of confidence.

US planes strike Iraqi targets
ANKARA, April 17 (AP) — U.S. Fighter planes today struck targets in northern Iraq after they were threatened while patrolling the northern no-fly zone, US officials said. It was the first confrontation in the area in a month.
