If you always smile,

You will be a part of every individual’s file.

Smile, it does not cost a penny,

As the believers of this theory are many.

Smile, it sets every thing right,

Even if the situation is tight.

Smile, for it is worth it,

Let your life be whatever and you will never quit.

Smile, is what you should do,

As it will bring the world to you.

Smile, for it is the best medicine,

And is meant for a sweet one who is innocent.

Smile,for you can give it to an Oriya or a Bengali,

As it is not bound by the shackles of language.

Tides may rise, tides may fall,

Time is forever linking us all.

What is past, has gone

What is present, is today

What is future, is yet for away;

So learn from the past,

Apply it to the present,

And memorise it for the future.

Time is unsurpassable for fools,

But it can be conquered by the hardworking,

And, those who don’t value it,

Cannot ever achieve success.

To comprehend its importance,

One has to face challenges.

To keep pace with it,

One has to be active and industrious.

Dad

I had seen my Dad,

Always cheerful, always smiling.

Dad would take me daily,

For our long nature-walks.

Fulfilling the moments,

With amusing as well as Geeta talks.

He was a great moral support,

We would immediately turn to.

And every difficult phase of life,

He let us pass easily through.

Our ‘Mom’ would find a chance,

For lecturing any day.

And our sweet Dad would

Slip in, halting her mid-way.

He always received you,

With a warm greeting.

He would all times be busy,

In some social service or at a meeting.

It was a sudden blow to us,

When he left us forever.

Leaving us remembering him,

And the many happy times spend together.
