Hisar, November 19
The self-styled godman Rampal is apparently in good health and even “blessed” his followers on November 9. This was revealed by his two followers, who have been admitted to the Hisar civil hospital after sustaining injuries during a clash with the police yesterday.

Santosh Kumar, a Shimla resident, said he had come to the ashram on November 6, a day before the three-day satsang began. Santosh claims he got “blessings” from Rampal on the last day of satsang (November 9). Another devotee, Lekhraj Singh, hailing from Rajasthan, said he came to the ashram on November 13. “I was lucky to get his (Rampal’s) blessing on the same day. He was looking in good health and walked in a steady manner,” said Lekhraj, who works as an electrician in Delhi. He is being treated for injuries on his face.

Rampal’s aides have furnished a medical certificate in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on November 10 and again on November 17 claiming that the sect head had been suffering from chest pain, hypertension and other ailments and therefore was not in a position to appear in the court.

The court, however, had rejected these medical certificates and asked the Haryana police to arrest Rampal.
