6 civilians injured in Pak shelling
JAMMU: Six civilians, including two women, were injured when Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to an Army officer, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing by small arms and automatic weapons and shelling of 81 mm mortar bombs in two forward sub-sector of Sabjian and Mandi.

Ludhiana brothers shot in head from close range: Autopsy

The controversy over the killing of two brothers in the Jamalpur “police raid” refuses to die down. In a fresh twist in the case, the autopsy report shows that the two youth were shot in the head from close range. The post-mortem report prepared by a board of three doctors — Jasbir Kaur, Suresh Kaushal and Seema Chopra — shows that the duo was shot from a distance of less than six feet.

Five Haryana Congress MLAs, including Health Minister Rao Narinder Singh, are in the dock in the Change of Land Use (CLU) scandal. The state Lokayukta today asked the police to investigate the case and report to it within three months. The Lokayukta held the allegations of demanding money for granting the CLU permission as a prime facie fit case under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).
