Virbhadra graft case: CBI files status report

The CBI today filed its final status report in the Delhi High Court on its probe into allegations of graft, money laundering and forgery cases against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, during his earlier tenure as CM and Union Minister. The next hearing in the case is on September 10.

The CBI filed the status report today on the direction of the court. The court also directed Virbhadra to file his affidavit in the court by tomorrow.

Hearing a PIL filed by NGO ‘Common Cause’ against the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, a Bench comprising Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice RS Endlaw said, “How can a party (HP Chief Minister) be allowed to file its response without being issued a notice?”
