PM Modi's move to raise FDI in defence to 100 per cent remarkable: Defence Expert
New Delhi, May 30 (ANI):
After Commerce Ministry cleared the DIPP note to hike FDI in the defence sector to 100 percent from the current 26 percent, Defence Expert Bharat Verma said that it is a remarkable move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that it will meet the country's military requirements, will bring new scientific knowledge and technologies and that there will be spin of civil industries. Verma also said that the move will make India a hub of modern defence manufacturing.



People in Maoist-hit Rayagada pins hope on Modi govt for security
Rayagada, May 30 (ANI):
People living in Maoist-affected Rayagada district of Odisha banked on newly formed central government for safety and security. Residents of Maoist-affected villages said they were expecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led union government to take concrete steps against Maoists in the region. People complained that the district was neglected during Congress party’s regime and hoped for better future.



Blast in Imphal claims two lives
Imphal, May 30 (ANI):
At least two persons were killed and six others injured when a bomb exploded in Manipur. The explosion took place at Singjamei Chinga Makhong in capital Imphal. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Clay Khongsai, said it was Improvised explosive device (IED) blast. After visiting the injured persons in the hospital, Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh suspected that bomb was denoted to target migrant workers in the town. All the injured have been admitted in Imphal hospital.



Sachin Tendulkar launches BMW X5 in India
Pune, May 30 (ANI):
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar launched the BMW third generation X5 car which would be produced in Chennai plant of the German luxury car maker and will be ready for sale from June. Tendulkar said he has been using the first generation X5 since 2002 and has had a delightful experience with the vehicle. At the launch, BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr said the diesel variant of the new X5 has more space and improved fuel economy.
