''We have sown the seed and are sure to reap a good harvest on May 16, when the results are out,” said Pradeep Tamta, Congress candidate from Almora parliamentary constituency.

According to Tamta, the people have voted for development models of Congress Party in last 10 years of UPA government as the party had created historic facilities in the villages of the constituency. ''The people who have benefited out of MNREGA and PMGRY schemes have voted for the Congress candidates all over the country as these schemes, added with some other schemes, have reduced poverty and created facilities like road and health in the villages,” said Pradeep Tamta.

Tamta claimed that though his party was in a neck-and-neck fight in urban areas, the rural voters are totally with the Congress..

BJP leaders, on other hand, have claimed that the vote was for change and people have voted to oust the ''corrupt Congress government and make Modi the next prime minister of India.'' ''This vote was to get of not only Congress-led UPA at the Centre but also from ''inactive state government as it could not deliver the goods despite having time and resources to do so at the time of disaster in the state,” said Prakash Pant, BJP general secretary.
