Lalit Modi elected as RCA President
JAIPUR: Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi was on Tuesday elected president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, setting the stage for yet another round of legal tussle between him and BCCI, which had threatened to ban RCA in anticipation of this result.

NEW DELHI: Just hours after Lalit Modi was declared the president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association in Jaipur on Tuesday, the BCCI has “indefinitely” suspended RCA and appointed an ad-hoc body to run its cricket affairs.

Campaigning for the penultimate of the nine-phase Lok Sabha elections ended in 64 constituencies today. Polling on these seats, including Amethi where Rahul Gandhi is seeking a re-election and 25 seats in Seemandhra, will take place on Wednesday.

Ahead of polls, Chinese copters intrude into Ladakh
Leh, May 5
Ahead of polling for the lone Ladakh Lok Sabha seat — the country’s largest (area-wise) parliamentary segment — the Chinese Army made a major incursion in the Chumur area, close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Leh district. The incident occurred on May 3 when three of its helicopters entered the Chumur area and conducted a recce for some time.
