State of affair
Alia Bhatt is the girl on the go. She was adored as Shanaya Singhania, praised as Veera Tripathi and her Ananya Swaminathan act has already garnered some five million plus views on youtube. Young and fresh, this refreshingly pretty girl is out to grab her fair share under the sun and totally unapologetic about it. In Chandigarh on Wednesday, Alia Bhatt talked about her films and more. In 2 States, Alia plays a Tamil Brahmin— a Tam Bram to be specific, not just any South Indian. The film was challenging and interestingly it was not the language that was the trouble for this young actor.

Sharhaan Singh No negativity
It's been a usual journey to recognition, where theatre studies gave way to music videos, directorial stints and brief cameos to much better things. What brought him to the limelight like never before was a prime time soap opera. Uttaran's infamous Sid, played by Sharhaan Singh, has cast a shadow that refuses to go. "I have somehow made that negative image, though now I'd like to break away from it…Somehow they think I can play negative shades better," he shares, while in Chandigarh, a day before the release of his upcoming Punjabi film Mr and Mrs 420.

Gul Panag The celebrity card
Unlike acting, there is no crash course in politics. It’s on-the-job training--you lose, you win; make news, create controversies; take pledges, fulfill some, forget some; commit felonies, emerge innocent…. On that note, a celebrity opening an account in politics might get instant recognition but to convert his or her fan-base into a vote-bank isn’t a cakewalk.

Crooked, yet charming
Jassi Gill, Avantika Hundal and Babbal Rai If you spend a minute or two extra with them, they will convince you that they are anything but 420. However, when you see the trailer of their film Mr and Mrs 420, you will be enamored by their crookedness. Either way, these two charmers can spin the scene for good even under the watchful eyes of the director Ksshitij Chaudhary and producer Rrupaali Gupta.

Rocky roads!
Relax dear readers, this is a food column though today it sounds deceptively like a story on cross-country trekking! Some quirky creator threw together some delicious bits of chocolate, nuts, dried, fruits and honey, melted them into a rough, misshapen mass and called it Rocky Road! It sounds

TROUBLE SHOOTER
Separation pangs
My husband and I are separating. My husband is rude to me and has confined us in a corner of the house. There is a history of alcohol abuse and though he loves his children, he treats me badly. His parents died so no one can tell him anything. My parents are willing to have me back but I am staying on for my kids. My older son, who is 9 years old, is very irritable and does not listen to me. Am I doing the right thing?
