A social web
From combating eve-teasing to generating awareness about breast cancer, women are using online tools to tackle issues collectively
The connotation of ganging-up might change post the release of Gulaab Gang, this International Women's Day. For it might denote resolute women coming together to deal with issues — complex and simple. As complex as breast cancer and as simple as new mothers finding it difficult to cope with their high pressure job. So they talk, discuss, find solutions and share experiences, all in a bid to empower each other, this time on social media or through mobile apps, where they deal with real problems in the virtual world.
