The Vigilance wing of the Local Government Department is understood to be sifting through a large number of files of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust pertaining to the allotment of residential plots, transfer of ownership, especially those where the ownership of properties was transferred on the basis of the power of attorney during the tenure of Raj Kumar, who was holding the additional charge of Executive Officer (EO) after the then EO, Avtar Singh Azad, was sent on compulsory retirement.

Conductors join stir; won’t budge, says LCBSL
Ludhiana, December 11
Worries for Ludhiana City Bus Service Ltd (LCBSL) do not seem to be ending soon as now conductors have also joined the drivers' strike. Due to the strike, the LCBSL has been suffering huge losses. Only one low-floor bus plied on city roads today. The LCBSL has a fleet of 75 buses.

Officials not taking court orders seriously

The local Commissioners, appointed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in their report submitted before the court today have observed that the administrative heads in the city are not taking the court orders seriously.
In their report, they said encroachments could still be seen along the Ferozepur Road and some hotels were not using their designated parking spaces.

Man held on charge of impersonation
Ludhiana, December 11
The city police have arrested a person posing himself as a drug inspector here today. The accused has been identified as Manish Verma, a resident of Brota road. The police said the accused runs his hosiery unit. The accused was heading towards the Gill Road when the police stopped him at a checkpoint on the canal bridge.
