School owner kills self: The owner of a private school in Gurgaon committed suicide by hanging himself last night. Body of Chitrekh Adlakha, owner of Adhlakha High School in Madanpuri, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a room in the school building. The autopsy report confirmed death on account of strangulation, but the cause of suicide was not known, the police said. Adlakha was last seen at his garment shop adjoining the school building. He sent the shop worker to run an errand and went into the school. He was associated with the Indian Youth Congress and contested unsuccessfully for the post of Municipal Councillor, Gurgaon, in the last election.

Youth killed in road mishap: A youth, identified as Sukhbir Singh of Mubarikpur village here, was killed in a head-on collision between a jeep and a car on the National Highway No 71-A, near Kulana village, here last evening. The mishap took place when Sukhbir was coming back to the village from Rewari district in his jeep. As he reached near Kulani village, his jeep collided with the car coming from opposite direction. Sukhbir reportedly died on the spot.

Youth held on rape charge: The police has arrested a Dalit youth, Pradeep (30), an employee of a cement factory at Charkhi Dadri town in Bhiwani district, on charges of kidnapping a teenaged Dalit girl (16), from Rattanthal village, 30 km from Rewari, on October 8. He kept the girl at various places and allegedly raped her repeatedly. The police also recovered the girl, who was medically examined in the Civil Hospital here on Thursday. Pradeep was produced in a local court on Friday, which remanded him in judicial custody. Section 376 (rape) was added to the FIR registered earlier for abduction on a complaint filed by the victim’s
mother.

2 brick-kiln workers killed:
Two brick-kiln labourers were killed and a motorcycle-borne couple was injured when they were knocked down by a four-wheeler between Bhainswal Kalan and Farmana villages on the Gohana-Kharkhoda road on Thursday night. Sources said Satbir of Barota village and his wife Priyanka were returning to their village on a motorcycle when they were knocked down by a four-wheeler coming from the opposite direction. While trying to flee the spot, the four-wheeler driver also knocked down two labourers, Rajesh and Panna Lal, of Bihar. Rajesh died on the spot and Panna Lal succumbed to his injuries on way to the Women’s Medical College, Khanpur Kalan. Priyanka was admitted to the Medical College in a serious condition. The police has booked the unidentified driver.-
