Moga, November 7
Padamveer Singh, Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, today summoned all IAS, IPS and IFS probationers to the academy with immediate effect. The trainee officers were on a weeklong rural training exercise in Moga district.

The decision comes after the death of trainee officer Nishant Kumar (26) in a road accident in the district on Wednesday. The victim belonged to Begu Sarai district of Bihar.

A batch of 25 trainee civil servants had come to Moga district on November 2 and was scheduled to stay here till November 9, said Moga District Magistrate Arshdeep Singh Thind.

He said Padamveer Singh along with two deputy directors of the academy visited the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana today to enquire about the health of three others injured in the accident.

The condition of Ajit Kumar, an IPS-turned-IAS officer, who had suffered multiple head injuries was stated to be stable.
