Lucknow, October 30
Three persons were killed in fresh outbreak of communal violence at Hussainpur village of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh this evening.

Three residents of Hussainpur village had reportedly gone to the fields around 7.30 pm when they were shot down by members of another community from neighbouring Mohammadpur Rai Singh village.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Residents of Hussainpur village staged a dharna at the Burhana police station demanding immediate action against the culprits.

Muzaffarnagar SSP Hari Narain Singh refused to give details about the fresh incident saying the police was still in the process of ascertaining facts.

Communal violence had claimed 62 lives and rendered around 50,000 homeless in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts in August and September this year.

Riot-hit had started returning to their homes only recently. Many still continue to put up in camps fearing fresh communal violence.

Last week, the Akhilesh Yadav government announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to each such family so that they could settle elsewhere.
