Rs 1.5-cr financial burden on UT

By directing the Education Department to pay the pending arrears to over 250 contractual schoolteachers, Chandigarh Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has added an additional financial burden of Rs 1.5 crore on the UT administration.

4-month-old foetus found in toilet

A four-month-old male foetus was found dumped in a toilet on the third floor of the General Hospital, Sector 6. Sources said it was an aborted foetus. This is the second such incident in 20 days.On October 11, a female foetus was found in a toilet of the hospital.

High drama in CBI court
Chandigarh, October 30
High drama was witnessed in the CBI Special Court of Vimal Kumar today and utter confusion prevailed when a complainant in a case accused the investigating agency of forcing him to sign false documents and said he was not the actual complainant. While the CBI court had issued summons to the complainant “Satish”, he (Satish) told the court that he was not Satish but his actual name was Balbir and the CBI coerced him to sign false documents with another identity.
