Vadodara:
5 dead, many trapped as 2 buildings collapse
Vadodara, August 28 (ANI): At least five persons died and over 35 trapped as two seven-storey buildings collapsed in Vadodara district of Gujarat
today morning. The incident occurred in Atladara area of the city. Relief and rescue teams
rushed to the spot. The buildings are located in a residential complex set up by the Vadodara Urban Development Authority.
Chhatisgarh: 2 Maoist, 2 police personnel killed in
encounter
Dantewada, August 28 (ANI): Two Maoist women were killed in an encounter
with police teams in Dantewada district of Chhatisgarh. As the police teams,
present for the night inside the forest, were bringing the bodies of killed Maoists out of the jungle, a Special Task Force (STF) commander and a jawan
were killed in an encounter between the ultras and security forces. The killed officials were
identified as company commander Lav Bhagat and Constable Selestian Kujur,
respectively.
Janmashtami celebrated
in country
Mathura/New Delhi, August 28 (ANI): Devotees thronged temples in Mathura
today to celebrate Janmashtami. Janmashtami is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. According to Hindu mythology, Krishna was born at the midnight on this day. In New Delhi, hundreds of devotees were packed inside the hall of temples.
They danced, cheered and sang hymns.
