BJP finalizes plan for 2014 Lok Sabha polls New Delhi, July 19 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Board has finalized its plan for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and decided to create about 15 committees to manage different aspects of the election campaign under Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Justice Sathasivam takes oath as chief justice of India New Delhi, July 19 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday administered the oath of office to Justice P. Sathasivam as the chief justice of India (CJI). Justice Sathasivam, is the 40th CJI and the first from Tamil Nadu. He will remain in office till April 26, 2014. He succeeded CJI Altamas

2002 hit-and-run case: Salman to appear before Mumbai court today Mumbai, July 19 (ANI): Bollywood actor Salman Khan will appear before a Mumbai Sessions Court on Friday in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case. The Mumbai Sessions Court had rejected his review petition on June 24. As a result, he will now be tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 of IPC.
