Bodh Gaya blasts
One more detained; three FIRs lodged
NIA probing all angles, says Shinde

Bodh Gaya/Patna, July 10
Investigators on Wednesday detained one more person while three FIRs were filed in connection with the July 7 serial blasts at Bodh Gaya in Bihar.

The FIRs have been lodged against unknown people at the Bodh Gaya police station on the basis of statements of security personnel on duty at the temple on the day of the explosions, SSP Gaya, Ganesh Kumar, sadi.

The police detained a man identified as Dasrath, who belonged to Barachhati village from where Binod Mistri, the first person to be detained by the NIA, hailed. Dasrath was picked up on the basis of calls he made to Mistri, police sources said. The role of Mistri and Dasrath in the attack, if any, has not been ascertained yet. The Bihar Police, meanwhile, released today four persons, including one woman, detained yesterday as no evidence was found against them. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, who visited the blast site along with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, said a "detailed" probe was being carried out by the National Investigation Agency.

Asked about any involvement of the Naxals in the Gaya blasts, he said, "We have to see all angles.” Shinde said the NIA is also looking into the purported Twitter claim by the IM about carrying out the blasts. "Three-four people may be involved...with a car. We are conducting complete investigations," he said.

Asked why no arrests have been made in the case, he said, "Arresting anyone in a hurry is not right. Investigators should go into details and nab the real culprits." SSP Manu Maharaj said the four people, who were detained, were released after no evidence of links with the explosions was found during their interrogation. The four had themselves volunteered to meet Patna City Superintendent of Police Jaykant after coming to know they had figured in the CCTV footage at the blast site at the temple complex. During questioning, the four said they had gone to Bodh Gaya to visit the historic Mahabodhi temple, Jaykant said. Besides the Bihar Police, they were also questioned by the NIA and the IB.— PTI

Mumbai next, IM warns on twitter

Mumbai: A twitter account, purportedly belonging to terror outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM), has warned that the next target would be Mumbai, prompting the state authorities to tighten security across the city. A Maharashtra ATS official said the initial assessment suggests that the account does not appear genuine but the investigators are not taking the matter lightly.

Handiwork of new terror module?

* The terror module involved in Bodhgaya temple blasts in Bihar could be a new one, said NIA sources

* A preliminary analysis reveals that the three unexploded IEDs recovered from Mahabodhi temple do not match with the IEDs which have been so far used for terror strikes in the country, said sources

* It indicates that a new module could have been involved in the attack, they said
