quake hits China; 156 dead, 5,500 hurt
Lushan/Ya'an/Zigong/Chongqing, April 21(ANI):
A 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit a remote, mostly rural and mountainous, areas of China's Sichuan province, killing 156 and injuring about 5,500 persons. A big quake killed almost 70,000 people near here in 2008. The epicenter of the quake, with a depth of 13 km, was monitored at 30.3 degrees north latitude and 103.0 degrees east longitude. It was one of the most destructive earthquakes in China in recent years.



Delhi rape case: victim stable, protests across capital
New Delhi, April 21 (ANI):
The five-year-old Delhi rape survivor is stable and under medical observation in hospital as the capital city witnessed more protests today against the rise in number of rape cases. Manoj, the key accused in the case, underwent a medical examination here. The 25-year-old youth was examined by doctors at the Lal Bahadur Shashtri hospital.



show sensitivity towards public anxiety: PM
New Delhi, April 21 (ANI):
Strongly condemning the rape of a five-year-old here, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today urged his countrymen to show sensitivity while dealing with public anxiety. Singh added that there was a need of collective efforts to root out such crimes.



telecom scam: Congress urges BJP to run parliament smoothly
New delhi, April 21 (ANI):
Senior Congress leader Rashid Alvi today said he hoped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not stall the Parliament session over the Telecom Scam. He said the issues should be addressed peacefully.
