NIA indicts Jundal for Mumbai attacks

New Delhi, April 4
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today charge-sheeted Abu Jundal, one of the masterminds of the Mumbai terror attacks, accusing him of recruiting men for the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

The investigation agency submitted its charge-sheet before a designated Patiala House court against Jundal, whose actual name is Sayed Zabiuddin, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The NIA has charged Jundal with making "deliberate attempts to recruit different persons through the Internet for joining the Lashkar-e-Toiba and carrying out terror activities in India" during 2011 and 2012.

Jundal was deported by Saudi Arabia last year in June. He had told the police that he had taught Hindi to the 10 LeT terrorists who carried out the Mumbai attacks in November 2008. — PTI
