Govt eases curbs on foreign institutional investors
Chidambaram promises more reforms to meet current account deficit
New Delhi, March 23
The government has decided to ease rules to meet the current account deficit (CAD) by allowing foreign institutional investors (FIIs) more liberal access to the Indian corporate bond market from April.

At stumps on the second day of the fourth Test, Australia had let India gain a first-innings lead of only four runs. India were 266/8 in reply to Australia’s 262. The scales are evenly balanced, perhaps favouring Australia because India must bat last on this tricky wicket.

The court of the chief judicial magistrate, Jodhpur, on Saturday read out charges against four Bollywood stars — Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Saif Ali Khan — in the 14-year-old case of blackbuck poaching while shooting for a film.
