Canada issues record visas to Indians in 2012

The applications of More than 1.40 lakh Indians— both students and visitors— for visa to Canada were not only successful but also created a record of sorts as never before so many visas have been granted in a single calendar year.
Among the beneficiaries were 1.30 lakh visitors and 13,000 students. Canadian Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism Maxime Bernier hailed this as a demonstration of the increasingly close relationship between the two countries.
