Copter deal may be debated minus voting
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, February 21
With a determined Opposition planning to raise the VVIP helicopter deal, efforts are on to have a debate on the issue under a rule that does not entail voting.

The government has stated that it is open to any form of inquiry to the satisfaction of all parties. However, it would be scheduled only after the presentation of the General Budget on February 28.

On the other contentious issue regarding continuation of Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath will make a statement in the House tomorrow.

The Left parties, in particular, are insisting that he should step down for his alleged involvement in the 17-year-old Suryanelli sex scandal.
