Panchkula witnessed a talking Ravana this Dasehra with special fireworks. Not only this, the city got its tallest-ever effigy of Ravana with a height of 70 feet.
The festival was celebrated with great fervour in the city this evening, leading to traffic jams on the Sectors 4 and 5 dividing road, Sector-11 roundabout, Sankla Chowk and other areas near the venue.

Stampede-like situation in Panchkula

A stampede-like situation prevailed at the Sector 5 parade ground during Dasehra celebrations when thousands of people broke the barricades to take the remains of the effigy of Ravana.
Minor raped by foster father

Thirteen-year-old girl was raped by her foster father in Kalka. He had adopted the girl 11 years ago. The accused, who was arrested by the Panchkula police last night, has been identified as 55-year-old

UT Administration’s claims fall flat

Tall claims of the UT Administration of carrying out fumigation to check the outbreak of dengue have fallen flat with residents of various Sectors saying they had never seen a single fogging machine operating in their localities.

Children learn lesson of victory of good over evil
Chandigarh, October 24
Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40-C, wore a festive look as it celebrated Dasehra on its premises. The literary and drama club of the school put up an adaptation of epic Ramayana.
The students enacted the scene of 'Laxman Murcha' and also depicted the fight between Rama and
Ravana. Effigy of Ravana was set ablaze to mark the victory of good over evil. The students also presented songs, speeches and poems on the importance of the festival.
