2 killed in road accident

Tarn Taran, September 30
Two youths of Bachre village, near here, were killed in a road accident near Fatehbad village, 20 km from here, last night, while their third companion received serious injuries.

The youths, on a motorcycle, were going to take bath in the Baoli Sahib, the Goindwal Sahib.

According to information, the deceased have been identified as Gursewak Singh (20) and his cousin Ranjodh Singh (17). Dharminder Singh, who was injured in the mishap, has been admitted to a hospital. His condition was stated to be out of danger.

The motorcycle was struck head-on by a vehicle. Dilbag Singh, driver of the vehicle and a resident of Lalpur village, has been booked under Sections 304 A, 279, 427, 338 of the IPC by the Goindwal Sahib police, said Sanjeevan Kumar, ASI, the investigation officer. The driver escaped from the scene.



EARLIER STORIES

Gursewak died on the spot while Ranjodh died on the way to the hospital.

Villagers expressed resentment against the hospital authorities for not conducting the autopsy till this evening.

Gurbhej Singh, a close relative of the deceased, said had Ranjodh given treatment at the local civil hospital he could have been saved.
