Crime-based shows have become a huge hit on television. So, do they make people more aware of their surroundings or trigger paranoia?
The format of the half-an-hour show is pre-defined — five minutes for facts of the crime and the rest for analysis. What forced one into committing a criminal act, the turn of events that led to the crime, wasn't one scared of taking the extreme step…every possible cause is dug out and every possible question answered. Crime-based shows have evolved. They aren't just about the histrionics of the show anchors or the dramatised version of how the crime took place. Now, it's the psychology of the criminal that has gained precedence over how crime has been committed.

Daughter to revisit dad’s film
Actress-turned-director Pooja Bhatt says she is keen to revisit her father's 1974 "radical" and "shocking" film Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain and Mahesh Bhatt has welcomed the daughter's decision.
"I would love to look at my father's Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain. It was banned by the censor board that time and he broke a table in frustration. I was very small that time. We didn't have money and he walked back home from there (censor board office) to Shivaji Park. It was the dead end in his life," Pooja told reporters.

Irish actor Chris O'Dowd is planning to have two weddings with writer Dawn Porter. The two are set to tie the knot next month here. After that Chris is keen on hosting a second party in Hollywood.

"I am happy I have come this far here (Bollywood) on my own without godfathers, grandfathers or millionaire boyfriends. It is rare for an artist to get acceptance by the north as well as the south audiences, and I have thankfully managed that," Asin said in an interview.
