29 pilgrims die in Bhiwani road crash Hisar, July 30 While 22 persons died on the spot, seven others died on their way to different hospitals. The injured were given first aid at the general hospital in Siwani, about 30 km from here. They were then rushed to the General Hospital here for treatment. A few others were also sent o the Civil Hospital in Bhiwani. According to reports the ill-fated Canter was carrying 57 adults and a large number of children who were returning from Amarpura Dham in Rajasthan. They had gone there to pray at a religious place. All of them hailed from Kalayat and Deeg villages of Kaithal district. The accident took place around 7.30 am near Sainiwas village. A truck coming from the opposite direction collided head on with the canter. Both the vehicles were running at a high speed. The impact of the accident was so severe that it tore the canter to pieces. People working in the fields on both sides of the road pulled out the bodies of the dead and the injured persons from the Canter. The police also reached the spot soon and and all the injured were immediately taken to General Hospital, Siwani. After providing them first aid, they were referred to Hisar. Two injured persons have been referred to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, as they suffered serious injuries. Truck driver, Rajiv Kumar, a resident of Mujjafarnagar, had a miraculous escape. He sustained injured which were not serious. He was given first aid at Siwani and then sent to Hisar for proper treatment.
