While returning, two unidentified robbers snatched Rs 2.5 lakh from them and before fleeing, they fired a shot in his foot. While investigating the case, the police became suspicious about the statement of Sanjay Kumar. During preliminary interrogation, Satinder Kumar revealed that Rakesh Verma, son of Madan Lal Verma of Sital Nagar, Jalandhar, was in love with Baljit Kaur, daughter of Dilbag Singh of Garhshankar. Baljit was married with someone else and she had gone to Australia, which enraged Rajesh Verma and he gave a ‘supari’ of Rs 2.5 lakh to both of them for murdering Dilbag. When Sanjay and Satinder went to Dilbag’s house, they came to know that he died a natural death. To grab the ‘supari’ money, they concocted a story of robbery.
