NRI crushed under train

An NRI was crushed under a running train near Khojewal last evening. The police, however, said the NRI allegedly committed suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Inderjit Singh, a resident of Nahal village in Lambra. The deceased’s relatives said he was mentally upset for the past several months.

When the Government Railway Police official reached the spot, they found the mutilated body lying on the tracks. GRP officials claimed that deceased’s motorcycle was also parked near the tracks.

After sending body for post-mortem, inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC have been initiated.
