137 permanent posts sanctioned

Phagwara, April 23
Chief Parliamentary Secretary and local MLA Som Parkash got 137 permanent posts of municipal employees, including 131 safai karamcharis, in the Phagwara Nagar Council sanctioned. Som Parkash handed over a letter of sanction of these posts to Phagwara Nagar Council president Balbhadhar Sein Duggal and Executive Officer Adarsh Sharma this afternoon.

The demand of regularisation of services by the members of the Mohalla Sanitation Committees and Safai Karamchari Union had been lying pending for a long period and safai karamcharis were on a path of agitation.

Later talking to mediapersons, Som Parkash said the Punjab Local Bodies Department Punjab would soon be computerised to provide people all types of facilities under one roof.

He said Phagwara town would soon be made “Model City” having all ultra-modern facilities by providing good roads, streets,drains and sewerage facilities.—oc
