NRI’s house burgled Phagwara, April 15 Travel agents booked Hoshiarpur: The Sadar police has booked a couple under Sections 420 and 506 of the IPC for dupe a woman in the name of sending her son to the UK. They cheated Rs 7.64 lakh from the woman.The police said, Jaswinder Kaur alleged that Surjit Kaur and her husband, Avtar Singh, of local Thakar Nagar, Aslamabad, took Rs 7.64 lakh from her for sending her son Jatinder Singh to England. But they neither sent her son abroad nor returned the money. Youth held Batala: Police Station Rangar Nangal has arrested a youth for his alleged role in loading film songs illegally here today. SHO Rangar Nangal Charanjeet Singh said Mangat Singh, a resident of Ammonangal village, was held for loading film song illegally. “A computer, an UPS and LCD was confiscated from him,” he said. He also added that the accused did not have any license regarding this. The police registered a case against the accused under Sections 51, 52-A, 63 and 65 of the Copy Right Act. |
