DRIVER–THE SET UP
To hit the ball far with the ‘Driver’ we need a combination of technology (equipment), technique, timing and the player’s intrinsic speed. In terms of technique, the first step is the set-up. The distance the ball travels depends on the width of the swing, the length of the arc, the work of the levers (body, arms and wrists) the speed of the swing and apart from this the launch angle of the ball and its spin rate.
