Folk art contests from Feb 18

Jalandhar, February 2
The Indian Cultural Association, Kartarpur, will organise the 31st All India Folk Art Contests on February 18 and 19 in Kartarpur. Over 1,500 students from various colleges and universities across the region are likely to take part in the contests under the categories like folk song, marriage song, vaar singing, kavishri, folk dance (male and female), skit, fancy dress, mimicry and histrionics.

Miss DPS

Chitwan Nagpal, a student of Delhi Public School, has been adjudged Miss DPS during a farewell function held on the campus yesterday. Chitwan is good in academics, fluent in conversation skills and has been participating in co-curricular activities like camping and games. She was crowned by chairman Arun Thakur and principal Asha Kumar.

LPU wins

Lovely Professional University's cultural contingent of 21 team members made its presence felt at the 27th National Youth Festival, jointly held by the Association of Indian Universities and the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at Nagpur University. While the contingent won gold medals for Western vocal solo and folk orchestra; it bagged bronze medals for Western group song and classical dance.
