Be your own star
A pretty, petite girl dancing to the tunes of Kehna Hi Kya on her ring ceremony; another on Gal Mithi Mithi Bol with her friends on her wedding sangeet, a couple shaking Satvika with her friends. a leg together on Mere Haath Main Tera Haath Ho on their silver wedding anniversary — these are not clips from movies, but scenes from real celebrations in and around Chandigarh. Gone are the days when having a star to perform at one’s own function was considered happening; what’s in is taking to the stage on one’s own self! Singing; dancing on weddings and others celebrations have been part and parcel of Indian life, especially Punjab.

Wrong number!
The joke lies in the irony. Three years back, city-based Jagpreet Singh businessman Jagpreet Singh bought a VIP phone number ending with 001 for Rs 1.25 lakh. The same number he dreads to switch on now…for when he does that, a deluge of calls follow and each caller asks for Amitabh Bachchan! It all began post the September 12 episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati when the celebrity host casually announced nine digits on the national TV and asked people to guess the last digit of the phone number.

Learning to hit intermediate shots
Learning to hit intermediate shots is a skill a good golfer must possess. When the ball is lying on a steep slope or playing in the rain or very windy conditions we are unable to make full swings and control the ball. In these conditions good players make a shorter swing for better control and balance.

Hitting the roof
Sunroofs have become a rage in the recent past, with their popularity and craze going beyond one could have ever imagined. An essential feature in all the luxury variants, sunroof offers you the fun of a convertible with the power to shade the rays. The advent of sunroofs wraps very interesting and rags to riches story across the concept and realisation.

Wedded to worries
I am a 31-year-old working woman. I am in a dilemma; I want to get married, but at the same time, the stories I have heard about broken marriages scare me. I don't want my marriage to be a fiasco. Please advise.
Rita Sharma, Ludhiana
I understand such stories can be disturbing, but what makes you think it will happen to you? You should get in touch with a marriage counselor or talk it out with your friends and family. First you need to develop a positive attitude towards marriage, only then will you be able to make the right decision.

A unique platter
