The gloves are off. A day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh gave a cutting reply to Anna Hazare’s letter against him, the Congress on Sunday launched a no-holds-barred broadside against the social activist, calling him corrupt and accusing him of misleading the nation.

Water released from Pong dam after heavy inflow

Shammi Kapoor is no more
Mumbai, August 14
Actor Shammi Kapoor, who ruled the film industry in the 1950s and 1960s with his flamboyant, charismatic personality, is no more. He was 79. A prominent member of the Kapoor clan and the brother of Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor, the actor died of kidney failure at the Breach Candy Hospital at 5.15 am today, his son Aditya Raj Kapoor said.

Railways to go LNG way to cut carbon footprints

The Indian Railways has decided to gradually opt for liquefied natural gas on a large scale as part of its effort to reduce diesel consumption, green house gas emissions and ensure major operational savings. The Railways and the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) have signed an MoU to explore the potential of LNG in a substantial manner in locomotives, factories and workshops.
