Sadananda Gowda emerged victorious as the race for the Karnataka Chief Minister’s post was decided by voting with secret ballots after the ruling BJP failed to work out a compromise between the two warring factions of the party here.

Sangrur man held for attack on VC Ahluwalia
Fatehgarh Sahib, August 3
Two days after the Vice-Chancellor of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, was shot at, the district police arrested a 47-year-old Sangrur resident and recovered the weapon used in the crime.
