BJP for probe into trusts linked with Sonia Gandhi
Dehradun, June 13 Talking to mediapersons here today, Gehlot said if there could be a probe into the trusts run by Ramdev, why cannot there be a probe into organisations linked with Sonia Gandhi? The Uttarakhand BJP in charge said that the Congress-led UPA government had betrayed both Anna Hazare and Ramdev through conspiracies aimed at thwarting any attempt to stem corruption and to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. On the question whether the Central Government was competent to bring back that money owing to international laws, Gehlot replied that the Switzerland Government had given an undertaking at a UN convention that it was willing to provide details of the black money in their banks and would even return the money if the country to which it belonged asks for it in writing. He blamed the UPA Central Government for lacking in commitment on the issue. “Both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in their election manifestoes had promised to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks within 100 days of coming to power. But the UPA government failed to act on its promise even after returning to power in the 2009 Lok Sabha poll,” he said. PTI adds: The BJP today said there will be no change of guard in government or organisation in Uttarakhand and the next Assembly elections would be fought under a collective leadership. "I want to make it clear that the Assembly elections will be fought under the collective leadership of all important leaders of the state. There will be no change of guard at the level of government or organisation," Gehlot told reporters here. Gehlot said all party leaders like Chief Minister Nishank and former Chief Ministers BC Khanduri and Bhagat Singh Koshiyari would work unitedly to ensure a win for the party in the Assembly elections. |
