Wheat arrival picks up in mandis
Ludhiana, April 23
With bright sunshine and an increase in the temperature, the arrival of wheat has started picking up in Ludhiana district. About 32 per cent of the total expected wheat (Ludhiana district) has already arrived in the mandis. Maintaining its tradition, Khanna mandi has recorded the maximum arrival of wheat to date. Though farmers have expressed their satisfaction over the procurement process, many feel that due to the strict specifications, FCI officials were dilly-dallying in making purchases compared to other state agencies.
