Bangalore, January 24
Three more private complaints were today filed in a city court against Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and some of his family members in connection with alleged corruption in de-notification of land.

The complaints were received in the court of Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge CB Hipparagi. The complaints listed nine offences relating to alleged illegal land deals.

Briefing reporters, counsel of the complainant C Hanumanthappa said, “Each of the three complaints mentions three offences. Nine incidents of irregularities were thus covered by us in the three complaints. Yesterday, we had filed two complaints having three incidents each. Therefore, there were 15 incidents of irregularities before the court now.”

He said the Chief Minister was a common accused in all 15 cases, while his two sons, son-in-law, other family members and former minister SN Krishnaiah Setty are among those whose names also figure in the complaints.

The complainant is Sirajin Basha, one of the two advocates who had secured sanction from Governor HR Bhardwaj for prosecuting the Chief Minister. The complaints claim that Yeddyurappa and other accused had made Rs 189 crore from various land allotments and also caused a loss of Rs 465 crore to the government.

The complainant also named some of the developers and companies owned by Yeddyurappa and his family members, including Bhagath Homes, Davalagiri Property Developers, Adarsh Developers, Balaji Krupa Enterprises, Sahayadri Health Care and Diagnostics, as among the beneficiaries of the land deals.
