Jalandhar, December 31 The ADCP-I, Dr S.K. Kalia, said Rajinder Singh, a resident of Makhdoompura, had been evading the arrest ever since he committed the crime on September 6 and a case under Section 302 of the IPC was registered against him at Division No 4 police station. “He has admitted that he had also killed Gurjit Singh of Jabbowal village, near Baba Bakala, and Naseeb Singh of Rayya on November 11 and a case in this regard was registered at Beas police station,” said Kalia. He said Rajinder Singh remained untraced after the murder of his wife. He was tracked down only after his in-laws registered a complaint of receiving threatening calls and SMSs from his mobile phone, said Kalia. Kalia said apprehending that Rajinder might attack his in-laws, the police had provided security cover to the family. Rajinder Singh was nabbed last night, while he was roaming near his in-laws house in the Ashok Vihar locality, he added. Jatinder Singh, SHO, Police Division No 4, said to evade arrest, Rajinder had fled to Nepal from where he tried to fly away to Italy. Since the police had already issued a look-out circular (LOC) for him, he could not board a flight from Nepal. |
