SC refuses to expunge remark on Allahabad HC
New Delhi, December 10
The Supreme Court today rejected the Allahabad High Court’s plea to expunge the remark that something was “rotten” about it, clarifying that the SC had not “painted everyone with the same brush” and had, in fact, made a clear distinction between corrupt and honest judges. “It is nowhere mentioned” (in the November 26 Supreme Court order) that “all judges of the HC are corrupt.

PPSC scam 
8 yrs later, HC gives 17 PCS judicial officers their jobs back
Chandigarh, December 10
The 12-year-old controversy shrouding the appointment, termination and reinstatement of 31 PCS (Judicial) officers has come to an end, with the Punjab and Haryana High Court issuing the posting orders. In all, posting orders have been issued to 17 officers. It is believed some of the officers have during the period got selected elsewhere.

Govt suspected Radia of spying for foreign agencies

The Income-Tax Department today informed the Supreme Court that some of the conversations corporate lobbyist Niira Radia had with journalists, industrialists and politicians were ‘quite sensitive’ and were shared with the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

US regrets Indian envoy's frisking
Washington, December 10
Amid an uproar over the "pat down" screening of Indian ambassador Meera Shankar at a US airport, Washington has reached out to her and promised to see what could be done to prevent such incidents."We obviously are concerned about it," US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Thursday as India reacted strongly to Shankar being pulled out of an airport security line for a pat down in Mississippi despite being told of her diplomatic status.

Dutch authorities have arrested a 16-year-old in the Netherlands in connection with the cyber attacks against Visa, MasterCard and PayPal websites, which were aimed at “punishing” them for refusing to process any more donations to WikiLeaks.n According to a report in the Dutch daily De Volkskrant, which cited police sources, the young man has admitted to the crime.
